Celebrating Achievements

We are so proud of children’s achievements at Mayfield, in school and out of school, and look to celebrate them, in everything we do. This includes: in assemblies, on displays, Weekly newsletters, through social media (Twitter), the website, special celebration events and reward systems.

We have some proud, confident, independent learners, who are determined to succeed, show a great attitude to learning and demonstrate resilience and a ‘never give up’ attitude. It is so important to us that we recognise and celebrate these qualities.

Children recognise the improvements they and others make, and enjoy celebrating achievements, together.

We have a very active Twitter account that regularly celebrates ‘Mayfield life’ and children’s achievements.

Mayfield Magic Moments – Celebrating Learning

Children are proud of their learning and enjoying sharing how they have improved. They talk about their strengths, what they need to work on and how they have improved.

House Team Points

Excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning are celebrated through our House Team system. Children earn points which are converted into money at the end of the half-term. (£100: 1st, £75: 2nd, £50: 3rd, £25: 4th). Each house then chooses to spend their totals on different enrichment activities, throughout the year, or at the end of the year, which promotes financial management and democracy skills.

Mayfield Marvels

Children try hard to become a ‘Mayfield Marvel’ by demonstrating the values within the Mission Statement, around school. Children are so proud to receive their Mayfield Marvel badge, that is presented in assembly.

Assemblies

In assembly we celebrate stunning class Attendance and Punctuality by awarding special trophies each week. Children also receive certificates to recognise outstanding learning, attitude to learning or achievements. PE trophies are awarded to the ‘Sports person of the Week’ in each class and a trophy for the ‘Overall Sports Person of the Week’ across the whole-school.

Attendance

We celebrate the achievements of children with excellent attendance on a termly basis, by awarding certificates and attendance badges. We also recognise the achievements of children who have made improvements to their attendance and punctuality.

Achievements out of school

Many of our children achieve wonderful things out of school, that we celebrate in various ways, including Twitter and in assemblies.
