Mayfield Priorities

School Improvement Priorities for 2022-23

  1. Implement ‘Little Wandle’ – our new Phonic teaching programme across EYFS and KS1, so that more children can apply their Phonics skills in Reading and Writing by end of KS1.
  2. Help more children to become fluent readers, building their reading stamina and understanding of what they are reading.
  3. Help more children to accurately use spelling, punctuation and grammar in their writing.
  4. Help more children to know and remember the essential knowledge, skills and strategies in Maths.
  5. Continue to meet the needs of all children, including those who find some parts of learning tricky.
  6. Help more children on the same day where they find things tricky or to help them access learning for their year group.
  7. Continue to use our high-quality provision to help more children to achieve national end of KS2 outcomes.
  8. Use the expertise of our SENDCO to work alongside children and staff.
  9. Subject leaders will measure children’s achievements in different subjects across the curriculum, looking at whether they know and remember more.
  10. Help more children to understand what they have learnt before and how it can help them with new learning.
  11. Continue to work with families to help more children be in school each day.
  12. Continue to work with children, staff and families to support children, and help them to make the very best behaviour choices in and out of school.
